The most common cause of high water bills is a leak. First, make sure your toilet isn't running. Put a few drops of food coloring in the tank, but don't flush. If the water in the bowl changes color after a few minutes, you have a leak. Also, check the water meter. If the dial is moving and there is no water being used, you have a leak.Water Department

If the work occurred during the Spring or Summer months: The area is allowed to settle for 3 to 4 weeks. After settling has occurred, the area will be restored to the original condition prior to the water main break. If the work occurred during the Fall or Winter months: The area is generally back filled with stone and a barricade is placed on the area. Once settling has occurred, the area will be leveled off with stone. Once weather allows for the availability of material's, the area will be restored to the original condition. Black dirt / sod or seed become available late March, early April. Concrete / Asphalt are generally restored in May.Water Department
